Really, America?...

State of the Union

Since all the funny guy with the red tie wanted to talk about was Iraq, I guess I'll give the Stat of the Union address here. Here goes...

We are in a state of denial. We keep expecting Congress to change things. We keep expecting the President to change things. Blah Blah Blah. WE have to change things. Follow the example of America's Gay Community (the AGC). That's right folks, you heard it here first! We need to get together and come up with a well defined agenda. We need to lobby Congress, get working-class characters on television sit-coms, and, most importantly, have parades every freaking week until we are recognized as a group to be pandered to by our illustrious leaders.

We are in a state of dormancy. We, the People haven't done a damn thing about any of this since the freaking sixties (and who remembers the sixties?). Wake up, stop whining, and GET INVOLVED. (If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding-Floyd)

We are the most stupid, lazy, arrogant, and wealthy people on the planet. Several generations worked very hard for us to get this way, and we are holding on to three out of that four as hard as we can. We have become a joke to Central and South America. We have become the source of unification for Islamic terrorists everywhere. We have forgotten the sacrifice of our forefathers (flawed men that they may have been) in order to create a better world.

All we have to do is learn to compromise on the little stuff. We all really want the same thing.
Forget about conservative or liberal for a moment. Think about what you really want: You want to be able to make a living, you want to raise your kids in a safe place, you want your kids to get a good education, and you want to retire with all the benefits that you have earned.

That's the American Dream. In order to keep a grip on that dream, some of the smaller details are going to have to fall by the wayside. Some things that I may not personally approve of or appreciate may have to be accepted. So be it. Better that than my grandchildren growing up in a third-world environment.
